Paul Handerhan has been working in the first-party property insurance market for the last two decades. Prior to founding SPIN Insurance Holdings, Inc., Mr. Handerhan founded FAIR, the Federal Association for Insurance Reform. Serving as FAIR President, he grew the organization into a broadly recognized and creditable national insurance trade association.
Mr. Handerhan has held senior executive leadership roles in the areas of operations, marketing, sales, governmental affairs, and corporate strategy development. He has spent nearly twenty years educating both state and national legislators and regulators about first-party property insurance. He has extensive underwriting and claims experience, with specific knowledge of Florida’s challenging insurance operating environments.
Mr. Handerhan received his bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University. Additionally, he has the following industry designations and licensure: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associates in Reinsurance (ARe), Associates in Insurance
